
Cybercrime treaty wins U.N. approval despite industry concerns
The U.N. adopted by consensus the first international criminal justice treaty to have been negotiated in over 20 years.
The Budapest Convention is an international treaty on cybercrime. Officially named the Convention on Cybercrime, it is the only legally binding international treaty on the subject, covering offenses like copyright infringement, fraud, child pornography, and violations of network security.
