ILO Declaration of Philadelphia

The ILO Declaration of Philadelphia, adopted in 1944, is a foundational document that redefined the International Labor Organization's mission. It famously states that "labor is not a commodity" and that all human beings, irrespective of race, creed, or sex, have the right to pursue material well-being and spiritual development in freedom and dignity. The Declaration established that social justice and universal peace are inextricably linked.
