The E.U.-U.S. Safe Harbor was a data privacy framework that allowed for the legal transfer of personal data from E.U. nations to the U.S. It was declared invalid by the European Court of Justice in 2015 due to concerns over inadequate protections for E.U. data from U.S. government surveillance.
