
European Investment Bank may ban funding for fossil fuel energy
The aim is to fulfill the Paris treaty’s goal of limiting warming to no more than 2° C. above pre-industrial levels.
The European Constitution was a proposed treaty to consolidate the existing E.U. treaties into a single text. Though signed in 2004, it never came into force, as the treaty was rejected by voters in national referendums held in France and the Netherlands in 2005.
