The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) is a U.N. body established in 2018. Its mandate is to collect, consolidate, preserve, and analyze evidence of the most serious international crimes and violations of international law committed in Myanmar since 2011. The IIMM's work is designed to prepare files for potential criminal prosecutions to hold individuals accountable in national, regional, or international courts.
