Inter-American Commission on Human Rights

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights is a principal and autonomous organ of the Organization of American Nations (OAS). Its purpose is to promote and protect human rights in the Americas. It monitors the human rights situations in member nations, receives and processes individual petitions alleging violations, and issues recommendations to hold perpetrators accountable.
