The Inter-American Court of Human Rights is the main judicial organ of the Organization of American Nations (OAS). Based in Costa Rica, it adjudicates cases of human rights violations and issues advisory opinions to interpret the American Convention on Human Rights. Together with the Inter-American Commission, it forms the region's human rights protection system.
