The Tokyo Convention, officially known as the Regional Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Degrees in Higher Education in Asia and the Pacific, is a 2011 UNESCO treaty that promotes the recognition of academic diplomas and degrees in the Asia-Pacific region. The convention is a legally binding framework that aims to remove obstacles to the mobility of students, faculty, and researchers by improving upon the previous 1983 Bangkok Convention.
