GENEVA (AN) — The human rights situation in North Korea has deteriorated markedly since 2014, with the nation's increasing isolation directly linked to a severe decline in living conditions and an increase in state repression, according to a new United Nations report.

The report titled "Blocking People's Eyes and Ears," which was released on Friday, documents a pronounced tightening of state control, enforced through new legislation such as the Law on Rejecting Reactionary Thought and Culture.
