BRICS is an association of major emerging national economies. Originally formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, the group expanded in 2024 to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, with Indonesia joining subsequently, for a total of ten member countries.
