The Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law is a group of small island nations leading the fight against climate change through international law. The commission recently won a historic legal victory by obtaining an advisory opinion from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), which clarified that nations have an obligation to protect the marine environment from climate change.
