Community of Sant'Egidio

The Community of Sant'Egidio is a lay Catholic association that works for the poor, for peace, and for dialogue among religions. The Community is renowned for its humanitarian and diplomatic work, most notably its successful mediation of the 1992 Rome General Peace Accords, which ended the civil war in Mozambique.
