U.S. President Donald Trump moved to dismantle many of the foundations of the postwar international order, signing a sweeping presidential memorandum to withdraw the United States from 66 international organizations and treaties.

The directive on Wednesday marks the culmination of a year-long “sovereignty audit” and signals a decisive shift toward a unilateral foreign policy that rejects traditional coalition building and multilateral consensus.
