Mike Waltz confirmed as U.S. envoy to U.N. just ahead of key gathering

WASHINGTON (AN) — The U.S. Senate confirmed Mike Waltz as the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, ending an eight-month vacancy in a key diplomatic post.

The final vote of 47-43 saw 16 Democrats join all Republicans in supporting the confirmation.
