U.N. sanctions tension rises as U.S. court clears trial for Turkish bank

WASHINGTON (AN) — Little more than a week after the full complement of U.N. sanctions against Iran formally took effect, a major legal decision amplified global tensions over nonproliferation enforcement.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Monday raised the pressure on Turkey’s state-owned Halkbank, a NATO ally's lender accused of a massive scheme to circumvent U.S. sanctions.
