Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)

The Convention on the Rights of the Child is a 1989 U.N. treaty that sets out the basic human rights of children. As the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history, it has been ratified by all U.N. member nations except for the U.S., giving it near-universal international support.
