Veto limits and aid overhaul urged as the remedy for 'new world disorder'

A global humanitarian organization's outline of the top 10 crises that the world can’t ignore in 2026 includes a prescription to fix a system that leaders now call "archaic."

The International Rescue Committee's warning on Tuesday of a "new world disorder," defined by transactional diplomacy and a 50% collapse in global aid, demands a hard reset of the international order to prevent 2026 from becoming the deadliest for civilians in decades.
