WASHINGTON (AN) — The role of NATO in a potential peace agreement for Ukraine took center stage at a high-level meeting at the White House, where NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte described a new U.S. stance toward security guarantees as a "breakthrough."

The talks on Monday were the latest phase in U.S. President Donald Trump's diplomatic efforts following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
