U.S. announces new 'Board of Peace' and security force for Gaza recovery

A technocratic committee will handle civic duties, overseen by a U.S.-led board and a U.N.-backed security mission.

WASHINGTON (AN) — The White House has named a group of leaders to manage the next phase of a plan it says is meant to bring peace and rebuilding to Gaza.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump will lead the new "Board of Peace," which is tasked with turning a current ceasefire into a lasting recovery for the region, the White House announced on Friday.
