WASHINGTON (AN) — Four U.S. organizations sued the Trump administration to overturn sanctions targeting International Criminal Court officials and organizations supporting the court, opening another legal front against Washington’s escalating campaign to weaken the world’s permanent war crimes tribunal.
Human Rights Watch, the American Friends Service Committee, the Center for Constitutional Rights and the Open Society Foundations filed the lawsuit challenging sanctions imposed against ICC prosecutors and judges, a United Nations human rights expert and three Palestinian human rights organizations.
