Doha summit vows to fund social protections for 3.8 billion people

World leaders adopted a new set of high-level goals and directions that will force U.N. agencies and donor nations to fundamentally change how they spend aid money over the next several years.

The Second World Summit for Social Development, a U.N.-backed gathering that drew nearly 14,000 attendees to Doha, Qatar, culminated on Thursday with the adoption of the Doha Political Declaration.
