U.S., Ukraine cite progress at Geneva talks despite Trump ultimatum

The talks were complicated by Trump's renewed public criticism and a private threat to end U.S. military aid for Kyiv.

GENEVA (AN) — Top officials from the U.S. and Ukraine held intensive, closed-door negotiations, seeking common ground on a controversial American-proposed peace plan to end Russia's nearly four-year-old war.

The talks on Sunday, which included senior E.U. officials, were complicated by U.S. President Donald Trump's renewed public criticism and an extraordinary private threat to cut off U.S. military support for Kyiv.
