The U.N. moves to build an architecture for AI governance

GENEVA (AN) — United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres opened the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance with a warning that artificial intelligence is advancing faster than governments can manage and a call for countries to work together to shape the technology's future.

"Artificial intelligence is advancing at runaway speed," Guterres told delegates gathered in Geneva on Monday. "A technology that can reshape economies, transform the world of work, sway elections, and tilt the balance of security is being deployed faster than anyone, including the people building it, can keep up."
